Lol, I always love it when a debate breaks out on a post. I learn lots! :D
So just to bring it back around though, did anyone look at the info I posted about the mineral we purchased? I'm just curious about its quality and since it doesn't contain salt (or filler from what I can tell) does it have anything in it that I should research more, or be concerned about? We are also offering salt separately.
numbers 1 and 2 seem pretty bogus to me. Not what needs to be found in a mineral mix.

Add up the percentages of ingredient-- how much % is left? That's filler-- most often corn cobs.

You haven't really posted the ingredient list, I'd like to see a copy of the bag tag-- or like it says contact the supplier for an actual tag..

I think you'd be greatly surprised at what is really in this product..

and I'd hate to see what you are paying for it...

not to mention, you don't have any salt-- so you're still paying for that on top...

Hmm, that would be such a shame if it was all BS. They seem to be reputable and a more "natural" based supplier, certainly more thorough and knowledgable than others I've encountered. I'll have to contact them about the ingredient list. The 50 lb. bag was $56.

bag of salt is about 10 bucks here, and a bag of pipestone mix is about 7... but that's really split 4 way-- as it's good for 4 bags of salt...

You can buy kelp meal at most any feed store selling by-product feeds-- and it's comparible to gluton and distillers.

I prefer for my animsl to consume their plant intake in the growing state.
