Hi from So Cal. Just sheep and working dogs here and chickens for eggs.
We are neck deep in chaos at the moment with the move while trying to remodel the new house at same time. Gonna have to work soon on integrating our original chicken flock with the flock we inherited with the land. We got the woods/thicket mulched so all the small youpon/briers knocked back for a few months. Still need to get fencing in place before we can think about putting goats out there. So much to do and so little time....Hello from western part of Va... No goats... we have cattle, and some sheep, and chickens, and turkeys, and a garden, and fruit trees, berries, you name it.... and have had hogs, and horses; sure there are some other things. @Mini Horses that has the Saanens, and she and I , and now@canesisters, and her sister, all meet up once or twice a year at a huge poultry swap/flea market to talk and walk around and have a gab session... also met @fuzzi from NC this spring....... There are others in E Texas, @Baymule has some nice Katahdin sheep.... get in contact with your local extension agent and find things goat related.
I have been a raw cow milk drinker for 40+ years.... but @Mini Horses brought me some goat milk, from her saanens, and it was pretty good. Creamy, since goat milk is naturally homogenized...
Just looked and realized that it's been a month since you posted... another "one and gone" ??????
And of course, EVERYTHING needs doing NOW!I’m glad y’all are making progress! It’s just never fast enough, especially when it all needs doing NOW!
I’m there with you, neighbor! And of course, EVERYTHING needs doing NOW!
