Wanted to make sure you all new this. IBGA, International Boer Goat association is closing. Information on what to do if you have IBGA registered goats is on their website. If they are already dual enrolled you don't need to do anything, but they will no longer be dual enrolled. Also, If they have IBGA show pionts there is some information about that, but that part doesn't look too promising. Does look like if htey are already ennobleed from IBGA, that they are going to try to transfer that to ABGA.

Also don't forget that if you have UsBGA registered stock, ABGA doesn't accept their applications. So if you have a 100% registered doe USBGA and a 100% registered buck from ABGA The kids can only be registered 50% with ABGA, meaning only the does can be registered with ABGA.

I'm not in the Boer side of things but that is bad news. Really bad news.

I really hope this doesn't ever happen to the Kiko registries.

I have had several sales from people coming to buy ABGA bucks, because they didn't realize their buck that was USBGA or IBGA that they got at a really good price would not allow their kids to be registered ABGA on their ABGA does. Of course it works both ways. You could by an ABGA buck and then not realize your kids from your Usbga or IbGA does are not registarable as 100% under ABGA. This would eventually result in your herd being turned over to IBGA or USBGA, since they were accepting ABGA registration. Maybe not a big deal for some people or some areas, but in our area it would hurt your sales, especially sales of your fullblood bucks.

Thankfully the Kiko world has a fix to all those crazy issues and lack of registries getting along. It's called the National Kiko Registry and I love it!

Hopefully it all works out ok for you. Shame to see so many people that this will affect and maybe put out of business.

It sucks for those people but I really think that 3 is too many registries.

Straw- the kiko registires have the same issues, AKGA and IKGA do not recognize NKR. I have noticed the AKGA is getting a lot more active now that the NKR has come on the scene. I suspect the IKGA may go the way fo the IBGA.

Oh I know they don't get along and all have their issues with that but the NKR takes both IKGA and AKGA and of course the NKR so if something like this happens (and it's not the NKR, which the NKR is here to stay) then we can all go to the NKR and be fine. It won't ruin anyone's goat business.

Oh and I agree. Now that the NKR is really gaining steam the AKGA is trying to make a comeback after half it's members left for the NKR. The NKR is the fastest growing registry and I think they will only get bigger. The AKGA will, imo, always be around do to how it started, that it was first, and that all the original stock is AKGA registered but I too think the IKGA might die off soon.

NKR is just another registry being created b/c 'they' (colloquial they) couldn't get along or didn't like what IKGA and/ or AKGA was doing.

Same deal as ABGA, USBGA, and IBGA....don't like what's there? Start your own! Bunch of grown men who can't get along, if you ask me. Honestly, I always expected it to be the USBGA (of the 3 boer groups) to go first. I love them, they're great people...but I never hear ANYONE say nice things about them who are ABGA members.....and w/ the ABGA going 'exclusive' last year, I expected them to push USBGA out first.

Why can't we all just get along??

I don't know one goat producer that feels differently. Everyone I know feels the same way and think it's crazy.
