increasing milk volume/weight

I am milking my 5 girls once a day now for convenience. Within the month my daughter will be off her job for the summer and I want to go back to a 2X day schedule for more milk I actually doubled the amount on all three that I did that with the three I last year. I did this last year and it worked. You could even milk 3/4 times a day to get the milk going. Just picture it like an older kid drinking more. Also stripping is important, get that last drop, give a couple little bumps to the udder and see if you can get a bit more. If you don't empty fully you get less with each milking. If I'm trying to get back to milking twice I will even run a brush over the doe on the milking stand after milking then bump her udder to see if the relaxation got a bit more. Whatever you take she'll make plus more. Make sure she is drinking alot of water. Curious as to whether she is drinking the same amount? Sometimes water that tastes diffferent like chlorine or metallic keeps animals from drinking like they did. Another goat for a buddy might not be a bad idea either if she came from a herd.

I'm going to try milking her more after Sunday. We'll see how that works. She has a companion w/ the 3mo doeling, so I don't think she's lonely. As to water, I don't really know how much she drinks. The water bucket goes down, but I don't know who is drinking. I'm assuming Apple is drinking the most since Frosty is still getting 1 bottle a day. That will be finished the end of the month.

I will try brushing her then trying to milk again. I was doing that a little when we first started. She likes to be brushed.

Thanks for all the helpful hints. I'm anxious to try them.

I've been milking Apple 3 times a day most days. Her volume has increased to a full quart. She's getting close to needing a 2nd jar. :clap
