I have a boer doe who has somewhat rougher hair than my other boers and the hair on her neck has turned a lighter shade, gone a bit curly and just looks a bit odd. Is this a copper deficiency? If not, what is it?
And FYI, she's a little over a year old and is pregnant with her first kid(s), due around Oct/Nov.

Hopefully this link works to the pictures!

wont allow me access to the pictures. There is a copy and paste URL at the bottome of the screen under your photos that allows it to be public.

That's the down undercoat. It's that time of year when they're changing coats. I wouldn't worry about it.

I've owned goats for a number of years and have never seen an undercoat like that.

20kidsonhill - I think I changed it to public, so you should be able to see the pictures... let me know if you can't and I'll try something else!

Well, maybe it just is winter fuzz. I just have never seen a goat with hair like that :/

Like Roll I have one goat that has an entire body covered in that hair at certain times of the year. She's had it every year for 7yrs now. I also have a another one with just a little here and there.

I think it is also normal, just the way her hair coat is responding to the changing season.
