Are your herd dogs related to the Caucasian Shepherds?

Not that I know of. Mine are Belgian Lakenois all of them are actually from Belgium as well.

Who'll let the dogs out? A very disciplined pack indeed. I need a large breed to protect my herd. They are a good looking lot to be sure. Well, thanks for the replies. Say hello to the brigade from across the water.

For protection, different breeds than those well trained ones @SageHill has for herding. Nope, protectors have their own rules and mindset. I have a LOT of goats but, few predators....no dogs. mainly possum and occasional fox. My chickens & eggs are more at risk than my goats. I'm fortunate.

Will do - but which side of what water are you on?
Yeah - these guys will put your flock where you want them and keep them grazing. But they aren't guardians - different job.
