I've got a question about vacuum pumps and milkers.... I'm going to make a milker machine. I picked up a Surge milker bucket with the pulsator. Next i'm looking for a vacuum pump to drive it. I read on a site that a 6 CFM vacuum pump was the best. My question is - IF i use a 3 CFM pump, can i just install larger vacuum tanks to get the necessary vacuum to the pulsator?

Just for a reference...for the milking machine i am making i am using
- a Surge milker bucket with pulsator: $25
- a Doerr 1/4 Hp motor (110V) with Gast 5.5 CFM Vacuum pump: $25

I'll be ordering the Goat milking Surge conversion kit from Hambly Dairy Supply: $115
Vacuum Regulator tanks will be made of Sch 80 PVC
Misc fittings n stuff - Home Depot: estimate $35

I'll update as i work on this thing with some pics as the build goes on...
