We will all be praying for your family tomorrow. It will be a terrible day for all of you. Just know that we are all thinking of you, Reid's parents, grandparents and all others who loved him. :hugs

Keeping busy helps a bit, it keeps you from thinking about it while you are working.

I need to work on my bale positioning. The gals on right side at enough hay it tipped towards other size. I'm also forking hay twice a day for the boys over in gulag.

If it’s any consolation, my hay bale does the same thing. The ewe crew on one side eat into it as far as they can go, then yell at me to pull some hay towards them. Then it wedges tight on the other side so Cooper and girls can scarcely get any loose. Then they yell at me to fix it. Sigh…….

That’s a nice neighbor you got there. His nice size bears testament to his eating lots of bugs around the barn, good to have him around! I haven’t seen any of those here, east Texas may not be their habitat. I have little coppery brown skinks, blue tailed skinks and the green lizards that change colors to brown.

Have you checked into the sheep and goat hay rings?
I have. My issue is I need setup I can load from trailer with only 2 humans. We don't have any equipment other than car capable of moving round bale. It's on the never ending list. For time being, I've swapped sheep to uneatten side to balance it out.

Can you use a saw to cut bale into usable portions? When we have to divide tight alfalfa flakes in half for the jugs, I use a small hand saw to cut across the flake. Much easier on the hands than trying to split a tightly compacted flake. Maybe you could use the battery powered chain saw to cut the round bales into manageable pieces. Or is grass hay too loose?
