Many are going thru similar mud pits and swim trials -- discouraging but, you'll find a way to get thru it! Really, they can live inside for a couple days. Boards will sink, then cement themselves in when it dries Bed the inside more, cuss and hang in there!

I believe @Baymule may be considering canoes & rowing classes for her sheep.

Good way to find those escapes.

I am completely covered in poo mud but I got this done. This way they can get to water and hay bale.

When it dries up some, lift them up and lay alongside the building so the ground will dry out underneath too... Yeah, it is going to be a mess... If you have any stall mats, or even rubber "conveyor type" belting, or something like that....to lay down temporarily.... that will allow for them to walk without their hooves sinking down in the wet...

The hardpan clay is about 3" below muck. That is what round landscape timbers are sitting on. I plan to scrap the mucky layer off and bring in kaliche to raise level 6" above hardpan.

Walkway currently of boards will be 6"thick x 8"w x 16"l cinder blocks wrapped in soil retaining cloth. That will serve as drainage ditch easy to jet clean AND sheep emery board. Added benefits that I can buy a block or two at a time to stockpile vs $$ all at once.

That was last night coming in from feeding. I found a puppy dig hole but at least the mud was soft. Husband is still alive because he SAID NOTHING!

Moonrise was too bright for camera. Nice orangey color.

I know! The moon was orange as it was rising. It is so pretty. That makes it easier for the coyotes to see and after the crazy weather we’ve had, I bet they are hungry. Anatolians were just barking their heads off. I went outside and talked to them.
