llamas r us said:
The single best thing that can be done for the llamas is FOOD, and that takes money. Unfortunately LOTS of money. Average daily consumption is somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 tons. That's $500 per day.

The next best thing will be people with land that could use a couple of llamas to live with your sheep or goats, or just to live their lives. Great critters for keeping down coyote predation year round. No the won't stop wolves or cougar, but talk with some sheep folk who have llamas and ask them how many lambs they have lost since getting llamas. The number will be miniscule if any.

Looking in the rear view mirror won't help much for the moment.

Happy New Year to all.
:welcome

Yes, that is very, very true. I love my llama and I'm adopting a second already from a rancher whose sheep are being preyed on by wolves and bears. If I had another pen, I'd consider a third, but I just can't.

Most likely I'll be buying some llama lunch for the critters there when I buy Sid's food and putting them into the Animeals cart. I've posted the Animeals website, but here it is again at Animeals. They're doing a most excellent job and are keeping those animals alive and well. Donate money, if you can.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

My friend Wes Laraway drove to Montana and picked up 100 llamas, bringing them back to his farm in Middleburgh, NY.

He's at northeastllamarescue.blogspot.com
