Glad we are not calving now (except for the 3 holdouts)... I can not imagine getting new babies now with the unpredictable winter weather... God Bless you for that. Bad enough we will start calving again in March.... that's unpredictable enough... and calves are bigger and have more "body" than tiny little kids and lambs...
Healthy but small....twin doelings. Last yr Baby had a large single doeling. Seems she felt smaller was easier . But they're good, even at only maybe 5# ea. They'll grow. Mom was a runt trip, bottled.
Today is sunny & with just a slight breeze, warm enough for Baby to take her girls for a walk. They aren't running much at only 1.5 days old, so I found them separated. Picked up both & put with mom who was having a picnic on grain & hay. Noticed one side of udder was fav for both, so spent time working on sharing got tums full & everyone napping. I'm in for lunch. Had to wash sticky milk from hands. Yep, I'll watch that udder for a few days. It's a common concern ea season.
