Here's what's wrong with today's animals....nothing mentions size, conformation, the important things. Well, it's the market!!! I can feed pretty & ugly for same $. Agree if they are out there, pretty is nicer to look at but, it's also why quality suffers. Buyer beware. It's why I also adore colored up kids for resale. This was from a Boer goat ad on CL...

Bucklings start at $200 and up. Doelings start at $250 and up. Price varies depending on color.

Well, I do get more $ for a colored up Boer goat but, I cull for quality. It's my goal to produce for the use. Good dairy or good meat. A good bodied & colored up buck is a money machine. I have a big, good producing buck that gives me mostly does. That's fantastic. I cross them for body + color with the other buck. Then you have "income" for breeders.

Dairy girls & half Boer give me kids to sell young, when buyers want BBQ type. Tender, milk fed.

Work your market. I'm not doing this "forever".

Exactly 6 months later...

Almost a big as Mom, way more growth to come. He'll be a "color producing $$ manager"

Thank you. Plans are to enjoy his offspring. Size & color working there. And fullblood Boer registry. So far it's promising but we know how a youngster can change. His genetics are good, so hopeful.
