i have a 9 month old Nubian boer cross doe. she weighs about 100 lbs and at 8 months I bred her. two days ago I noticed a bloody discharge, not so much a discharge and a bloody goop, on her tail and all over her vulva. I know she is only a month along, but I wanted to see if you all thought it was a miscarriage also. if it was, will she come back into heat, and when should I be watching for that? thanks for your help.

Just to make sure I understand (haven't had my coffee yet), she was a month along and not has passed something bloody/mucusy?

Does sound like a miscarriage to me. Before rebreeding, you might want to just do a thorough health assessment, maybe get fecal test done to make sure she isn't carrying a parasite load, check her body condition, take her temp---not that there has to be any problem with her to have a miscarriage but just to be sure.

She should come back into heat in a few weeks, or could be right away as some does ovulate right after kidding/miscarrying.

thanks for the advice. that what I did. no parasites, no temp, in great condition. just one of those things I guess. she came back into heat yesterday. so we'll see what happens. I really hope this was just a one time thing and will not be a reoccurring health problem. she is our favorite doeling.
