I have a LaMancha doe with 1 month old kids, turn extremely aggressive towards her 1 year old doeling. It's to the point I am afraid she might kill her daughter. I'v had this happen twice now on my farm, with 2 completely different does in completely different circumstances.
Both times they turn aggressive once turned in for the night. This second time I have the daughter separated from her mom with hog panels. She was trying so hard to get at her daughter that she bent the panels and hurt her head.

Has anyone else ever had this happen? I'v never had my Nigerian Dwarf moms be anywhere near this aggressive.

There's a reason. Generally smells. Usually a doe will allow an older kid to be around new kids, not always. Can you separate her & twins for a while? Has the yearling been near a buck? That could cause a concern. 🤷

I think one of them might be going into heat, most likely the mom. Other than that I don't have a clue. Our buck in nowhere near our does. We'll be putting mom in a closed stall overnight now and the kids are separated overnight for milking.
