All we will probably be doing is grass hay, will a mower conditioner help with drying time?
If we are looking for a mower conditioner, what are we looking for?
What is the defination Haybine?

So far all I know is...
Disc not sickle bar?
Rubber rollers not steel?
Any other wisdon I can use to make Hubby "think" I know something about mower conditioners!

what hp is your big tractor.you need atlest a 70hp to pull a mower/co.

You're probably going to be looking for a haybine with a sickle bar in it then. I would say a 9 footer. Disk bines take more horse power than the sickle bar ones.

your tractor will pull it.kitty both disc mowers we had was 9ft.an the 7700 84hp pulled them just fine.

well regions of the country are differant.we pulled a jd 1209 mow/co with a 60hp an less tractor.also pulled a hesston 30a stacker with a 1010jd tractor.

Depends on the kind of grass you're mowing. Some kinds are much tougher than others. Brome grass is easy to cut, but Junegrass is very tough. Alfalfa can be a bit tough if it's a heavy crop. A lot depends on how fast you feel you must go. A moco will speed your drying time by at least 30%.
