Thanks so much for the warm welcome!

Here are some pictures--first of our bees. Our first package arrived last May, and they have thrived. Then we caught a small wild swarm without a queen. We bought them a queen and they are doing well, although the size of the hive is much smaller. Both seem to be handling the cold winter we're having, so far. The coldest air of the season is coming this weekend, so fingers crossed they do ok. Our son and daughter are the beekeepers in these pictures. :)

What a great experience for them. 💞

Looks like a very nice pattern on that bottom frame.

Huh, for some reason, my post about my coiled horsehair baskets says it is awaiting moderator approval. I wonder why?
They probably limit how many pictures you can post in a day. I have a feeling you need to be on here for a certain length of time. Trying to filter out spammers.

It might have to do with the fact that this is a business for you also... and yes, being new they sometimes restrict some things... You can send a PM to any moderator and ask the rules...

Welcome from western Va... Shenandoah valley area...

Could you go to your name top right, down to account details, down to location, and just put in Ohio or something so we all can associate who with where... it just helps us all get to know who is doing what in what areas... plus anything temperature related... it's kinda fun to see where all the members are...
I got to meet @Finnie from In.... at the big Columbus Ohio show this past Nov... meet up with several other members from eastern Va and NC at a big poultry swap near Richmond Va twice a year... by knowing who is where you can find ways to meet in person if you want to... been to southern TN and met up with @Baymule from TX when she came up to get a ram from a member... kinda nice to meet people in person... plus we all like to compare how people do things in different parts of the country...
Looks like you have a nice thing going with the bees and great that the kids like to be involved...
As a beef farmer, and crop growing... all the bees, and bee keepers, we can support to pollinate our crops are more than welcome...
