Hi,

I just joined because I heard BYC was going to be down for a few hours tomorrow. I saw a post that all of us BYC addicts were welcome here, and that was sure a nice thing to say! :) I'm in Wisconsin.

We have a herd, I guess you could call it, of silkie chickens, two ducks, two dogs, three cats, two parakeets, two macaw parrots, and a chinchilla. We sometimes have a partridge in our peach tree too. ;)

I grew up on a farm in Minnesota, though, and we raised pigs, Angus cows, and sheep we bought from Hubert H. Humphrey, if anyone remembers him. I'm old, so that was a long time ago.

Our neighbor across the road has many horses and donkeys, and a short distance away is a dairy farm, so if I ever miss the smells or visiting a few four-legged animals, I've been known to stop in.

Welcome here... Lots of chicken people... most have a few pets but are more practical about the purpose of chickens... they are not "substitute children"... even though there are favorites and many have names...

We discuss most everything on here...Try to do so respectively....

Welcome! I'm a member at both BYC and here. I have bantam chickens, assorted feral cats, a spoiled indoor furball, and am currently searching for my next dpg.

I remember Humphrey, and the 1968 election. My sister was a teenaged political junkie, got permission to stay up late watching the returns.
