Our too small Nubian still too small

If she was one of quads and the others all appear normal and good size, can goat kids have different daddies like dogs can?

Yes. Also you can have 1 in quads that is significantly smaller and takes time to catch up. Some may just stay smaller but genetically they are still able to produce "normal size" kids.

I honestly don't know what a Nubian should weigh at that age since I don't raise them, but I know that I have Nigerians that weigh that at 9 months old.

The goat looks healthy and happy.

Interesting. I don't recall seeing any goats other than Nubians. (I'll have to ask David if he noticed. He's much more observant than I am.) The seller knew I was getting her for the specific purpose to breed with a Nigerian to get minis. If she still seems this healthy and seems to have matured next year I'll probably go ahead and let her breed with our Nigerian buck. I'm happy with small as long as she's healthy. David loves her as much as I do but he's disappointed because he really did want one big goat. And she would be the perfect big goat. She's so gentle and sweet.
