This is Sir Williams, Lady Lucille, and Princess Peggy. Bought from NJ breeder. We are starting our breeding program this coming year.

BIG...they will be BIG! :D My sis has a boar and a sow, who has new piglets. She named the boar Norbitt and the sow, Rasputia.... The LARGE in the Large Black Hog name is definitely apt.

Sir William is close to 6 months and is still only the size of our nigerian dwarf wether goat, only heavier/stockier. The girls are 4 months and fairly small, under 100 lbs. They don't grow as quickly as other breeds of hogs. We got 2 yorkshires in April 2009 at 22 lbs and when we butchered them in November they were at 280 lbs.

The large black hogs are a heritage breed, close to extinct. I believe it is because of growing slower and most markets want big, fat pigs ASAP.
