Over the last few weeks we have sent beef, lamb and pork ready for our new farm shop and all the meat is fantastic.
The Galloway cattle dressed out above 65%, the sheep mid 50s and the hogs were way up in the 80s.
So in easy terms
4 x sheep = 8 boxes of meat and only 2 hogs = 9 boxes of meat

ps Galloway x 2 = 36 boxes (yes we had to buy a new chest freezer  )

Congrats on your meat returns.

We did well on our lamb too. Got about 98 pounds of meat returned. Still not sure on what he weighed going in, they said they only did hanging weight. Told husband 162 pounds, so I am presuming hanging weight, he gave the cutting order and had them debone quite a few cuts while processing. Also have lamburger, no bones. I thought this was great meat return for size. He was a BIG lamb.

Lambs are supposed to be the best feed value, for producing meat to feed. Ours only got some grain, mostly fed on grass. He is quite tasty!
