Problem child

Definitely try what you can but please keep in mind this is livestock, not a pet. Yes we may see them like a pet but they are livestock. If this doe has been moved around alot there is a reason. If she doesn't adjust I recommend the freezer instead of shipping her off again to do the same there.

Hoping she comes around for you.

I was wondering if she ended up working out for you?

She will actually be leaving on Saturday actually. Its for the best, nothing has helped. Love her to death but she doesn't fit with my herd :\

I think as long as you are up front with her issues her moving on could be a good thing. We took a 18 mo doe in trade for a buck a few years ago. The guy flat out told me he was getting rid of her because she was bossy, pushy, and would head butt his little kids. My youngest was 2 then, but she was of more use to us than a buck AND I figured I could always sell her as a milker once she freshened. She was never a problem at all here! My herd queen whipped her into shape (not mean, she's just her queen for a reason!) and she was never aggressive with my kids. We kept her 3 years before reluctantly letting her go as a milker to a wonderful family. She was a grade and we decided to keep more purebreds. So, her moving on might be a good thing for someone else.

When we brought in our nubian wethers, they were more aggressive around the feed bowls than we were used to. We also feed them all together, so it was making it so we weren't sure the does were getting enough.

For us, it worked after a while, but if it didn't, I would have had to face the tough choice too. I'm sorry to hear you had to make the choice to find a new home for her. Better sooner than later though.
