It’s the year to keep extras though because I will have options to breed them to next fall without having to go out and buy another ram
These pictures are adorable!I drove to OH to pick up the rest of the Shetlands yesterday. Long day. It’s 5.5hrs each way. Everyone handled the trip well. The moms don’t seem too stressed. They’re in a pen with Jemima and Buster (the broken leg lamb) and 4 Shetland ewes that are weaning their lambs. Everyone is getting along nicely and the lambs aren’t getting pushed around either.
Symphony has the triplets. So far they are just nursing off her and they all look good. I’ll keep an eye on them in case someone needs help.
They very quickly discovered the bucket
I’ve already broken one of the girls. She came right up to me for scratches.
Linen’s boys are both nice, but her brown boy is going on the grow out list. You don’t see that many moorit gulmoget breeding rams.
We had some window-lickers on the way home.
I may be keeping a lot of Shetland ewe lambs this year. I have the 2 new girls that will be staying and then there’s 3 of mine that I’m planning to keep. Except now there’s a little black ewe that is trying to worm her way into staying. It’s the year to keep extras though because I will have options to breed them to next fall without having to go out and buy another ram.
