I think I’ve just witnessed a miracle. I had someone email me from my Craigslist ad over the weekend inquiring about the Border Leicester ewes and asking me to text her. I’m usually wary about giving out my phone number, but I texted her anyways. She asked a bunch of good questions and said she wanted all 8 that I had listed.

Of course I was extremely skeptical, but she actually came this morning and bought 9!

I only have 3 Border Leicester lambs left in the barn. 2 ram lambs and 1 ewe lamb that I don’t like at the moment. She’ll probably grow out fine, but I don’t like her at the moment and I won’t sell her as registered breeding stock until I do. She may end up in the freezer instead.

Busy day. Sold the lambs first thing this morning and then spent the rest of the day cleaning the ram side of the barn which needed to be cleaned and put back together before hay goes in. My BIL was picking up the hay today and it is supposed to rain tomorrow. There’s not quite enough room in the hay barn for everything so we stick as many as we can in my barn.

Normally my BIL sets aside my hay and I pay him as I take them, but because I had the sheep cash, I was able to pay him upfront this year. Takes a stress off me not having to keep track of what I owe.

I have a sick ewe. Not sure what is wrong with her. She has a slight fever and some diarrhea, but doesn’t have bottle jaw/worm symptoms. She looked very dehydrated when I found her and her stomach is very empty. She’s been drinking a lot all day and has nibbled on some grain, but I haven’t seen her eat any hay yet. She got some antibiotics and I drenched her with a beer and “Baby Lamb Strength”. She’s perked up a bit since then.

I bet it was the beer that made her feel better! :highfive:
