Agree that the wool looks really nice...really nice clean fleeces and length.

Sorry on the old girls... We shipped an old bull last month... went direct to slaughter not through the stockyard... he would not have done well with the winter weather coming on either... It is part of farming....

And on the "getting together"... ahhh, you know he just couldn't help himself !!!!!!

I’m pretty sure he wasn’t the instigator….Shetland ewes can be VERY determined when they decide they want a boyfriend.

We had Castrations for Christmas this year.

My FIP survivor housecat, Judy, finally got spayed. I’d been nervous to do it after her treatment, but the hormones were going to cause me to murder her. She also started peeing on things (mainly my spot on the bed, sometimes while I was in the spot 😬). Thankfully spaying seems to have resolved that issue because she hasn’t peed on a thing since.

Oskar Biteyface also lost his jingle bells. His zebra stripe pajamas just about took me out when I saw them on him. 😂

Tried to get nice Christmas pictures of the dogs. Mostly I got pictures of dogs that want to strangle me.

Biteyface pictures weren’t any better

Twig and Snap were slightly more willing participants

I spent November/December designing a pattern for a hat. I made them for niece and 2 of my sisters who have both sheep and Border collies.

The headbands were tacked on at the end when 2 of my coworkers begged for headbands with their dogs (Aussie and Dalmatian) on them.

I’m considering writing up the hat pattern and publishing it on a knitting site.

My chickens are laying like crazy. I did lose one to Oskar. He’s never been around poultry and I don’t think he meant to kill it her. The other chickens wised up and stay out of his area.

They are very curious and bold. I made the mistake of giving them snacks off the front porch the other day and a few days later, a couple of them followed me inside.

My Christmas present to myself was an ultrasound machine.

I ultrasounded all the ewes (young and old). There’s a handful that should’ve bred, but don’t seem to be and at least one that is bred that shouldn’t be.

My old lady Freyja did get bred when Triton broke in with them. She only has 1/2 an udder so my tentative plan is to pull 1 lamb if she has twins. I’m desperately hoping for a girl from her since this WILL BE her last lambing (she’s outwitted me and gotten bred a couple times now) and I know for sure who the dad is.

I was going to ultrasound my sister’s flock last week, but I got a respiratory virus and it took me out of commission. It was metapneumovirus which, in the average adult population, is basically a cold. I had a fever for 4 days and it went straight to my lungs and turned into pneumonia. I’m on antibiotics and steroids and was feeling a lot better and was back at work on Friday. I made it through all of Friday/Saturday and then crashed out around 3pm today and had to come home. I crawled straight back into bed and slept for 4+ hours. I’m feeling a bit better since I woke up (ready to go back to bed now though) and I have tomorrow off so hopefully I’ll be ok now.

Oskar Biteyface never fails to deliver. His pajamas are off the charts 😂 and his Santa hat pictures are exactly what I would expect from him.
Overall your Christmas pictures should be on Christmas cards.
The hats are so cute, yes you absolutely should post the patterns in a knitting site. Once again your talents in wool are outstanding. Did you keep one to enter in the fair?
Freyja fooled you again. She’s a sneaky old lady! Just how old is she?
I like the ultra sound machine! That’s a terrific Christmas present!
Pneumonia. Please take care of yourself and stay home from work a bit longer. You sure don’t want a relapse of that nasty bug.
Don’t wait so long to post again!

Oh man -- I used to do Christmas cards that featured one of our dogs -- in my studio - and I can say you've got some great shots that would make great cards!!
