I'm no shepherd, but I noticed the other ewe's reactions. Boy was cruising for a bruising.What a little stinker! Mom kept running to his rescue before he got beat to smithereens by the ewes he was aggravating. Then he ran right back and did it again!

She looked like she was going to butt anyone that she felt was out of line... regardless of whether they were trying to stay away from the little squirt or not... Got a couple of cows that are "bullies" if someone is where they don't think they should be regardless of who was there first... and worse when their "little darling" is being a butt hole....I booted both of them out of the small pen today because he won’t stop harassing the other ewes and Mallie is one of those moms that says “my child can do no wrong, what did YOU do to HIM!”

Oona gave me a pretty moorit katmoget girl this evening. I was *really* hoping for spots, but I’ll forgive her since her baby is so pretty.
This finally answers the question about what pattern Oona is. Her mom, Fiona, is a double pattern gulmoget/katmoget so Oona has to be one of the two, but her spotting completely covered the pattern so I couldn’t tell what she was. The suspicion was that she was katmoget though.

Twist thinks it’s time to buy a truck.
I’m actually working towards buying a truck this year. I don’t need anything huge and was considering a F150, but Ford also makes the Maverick which is smaller and cheaper than the F150. It can’t tow as much, but it can tow what I need.

Newton is still a nuisance. He spent a good hour jumping all over Ida. I don’t know why she tolerated it except maybe his little feet felt like a massage on her back.

We've got a Ford Ranger (they are bigger than the ones long ago) - it handles our stock trailer with no problem. We didn't get the extended cab so we'd have a bigger truck bed.
