The four year old finished the day putting chick feed on what's left of their watermelon. Hopefully they will transition well. Everyone seems okay. Let's see if they make it over night.
I took my oldest granddaughter to the feed store when she was 3 years old to buy chicks. She then spent the week carefully carrying one around, exchanging for another when the one she had went to sleep in her hands. Something about baby chicks and little children, it’s a special thing.
All the fancy dairy goat people are headed to Grand Island, Nebraska, but not me (not fancy enough, i guess). I made yet another cheddar and now I'm eating cheddar whey ricotta with berry sauce for dessert. And DH is out of town for an eye appt, and I've wound the kids down for bedtime so its super quiet (for) now.
If I went back home to the midwest I think I'd accidentally not come back. I'd better stick to cheese.
Cheese looks amazing. I actually have that for breakfast often. Nice protein start. Next week I plan mozzarella & cheddar. Will be first cheddar for me. Freezer gets loaded with ricotta for winter bake of casseroles, lasagna & breakfasts. Nice to have when girls are dried off.
Ah, that's what I should put in the freezers next to the cheese fridge! More cheese! I think the gang likes ricotta better than chevre too.
I did goat things today and got lots of goat pics...but I over did the load on my shoulders moving round bales and can hardly move on tyl and Motrin...so that will need to wait. DH better come home soon.
