Very possible. He has bad wristwatch juju. Durng the first 10 years of or marriage I bought him watches for Christmas, birthday (April), anniversary (July), and again Christmas. First couple were medium expensive, later years were cheaper ones since they all stopped working within a few months. Found out later that some people can wear wrist watches because of their body chemistry or something, their watches just stop working. It might be the same for tractors.
The rain arrived and we had a good downpour. It has stopped now but I am hopeful it will start again
Our old GE fridge light bulbs had burned out. DS1 got a couple that looked identical but were not appiance bulbs. They didn't work. So yesterday DS1 and I went to Lowes to look for other refrigerator light bulbs. Only one or two appliance bulbs there. We got the long ones which didnt fit. Just in case DS1 looked on his phone and the dollar store had appliance bulbs. We stopped there and picked up a couple. None of the bulbs worked so our fridge is dark.
DS1 said that instead of buying and returning bulbs he would order a couple on line.
While there we bought an inexpensive garage cabinet that is rated to be OK for outdoor porch use. We want to store our muck boots on the porch but on't want the dogs to carry them away or have bugs get inside them. Currently the boots and outdoor shoes live on a plastic carpet protector in the living room in front of the fireplace.
We may get another one of these cabinets to use for the tools that end up in the living room on my furniture or dining room table while they wait to be used again.
The cabinets are lockable, so we can put a clip on them to avoid Annabel's predation when she comes over. Having them outside by the door will be better than traipsing all that dirt and mud inside. Then I can use my antique copper wash boiler for firewood. The antique copper coal scuttle holds newspaper, kindling, and a couple Duraflame logs that we also use to start a wood fire. We will buy a couple cords of wood from Payton this winter.
We ordered a mattress from Walmart for the Murphy bed. Normally $250 but marked down to $138 for Labor Day. It is a Gel Top. We debated between the Memory Foam and this but the Memory Foam was regular price $118 and whie the reviews were 4.4 like the Gel Top, most of them said it was a very hard mattress. We found another one that was also Memory Foam but it was $150 also a mark down. We decided just to go with the Gel Top - Murphy Bed recommendations said either was good for cabinets. The Gel Top kept cooler in the cabinet and the Memory Foam held its shape in vertical position. 6 of one and half dozen of the other?
It is for the guest bedroom and either will work and be comfortable. All 3 mattresses got 4.4 and 4.5 out of 700-2500 ratings. It arrives on Tuesday. DD2 and husband will be arrivng for the night on Monday.
However we still have the blow up mattress in the guest room. We are not sure if it is a double that we could use on the Murphy bed or a queen in which case they will be sleeping on the floor. I have decided to use some drawers in the Murphy bed cabinet for blankets and sheets. That will free up some closet shelves for other storage.
