The taming of the ram lamb............
He's a flighty creature. I don't think the folks where I got him spent much time around their sheep.
I started out just being in the stall - took a while for him to start eating. The last few days have led up to this ... I can sit in a chair and rest my feed on the pan. Tonight when I went to feed and put everyone away he came close enough to take alfalfa from my hand - close enough but didn't grab any. Making progress. Not making friends with him, but I want to be able to handle him without having rodeos.

"Hmm, it's not a dragon? Okay, must be safe to eat the hay..."

I have 3 rams. Cooper and Rocky are both big sweeties. Then there is Little Ringo. Big, Powerful and one that I have to keep and eye on, both eyes! He is not mean, out to kill me, but he is no sweetie either.

Your ram may not ever be the sweetie, big beggar for treats, but as long as he doesn't want to run you down and kill you, there's that.

My goal is for him to not want to bolt away from me. That kind of thing can take out gates, bend fences, etc. My old ram would come and get treats - sugar sumac, wild buckwheat, animal crackers, etc - but there were times he'd get that look in his eye.
This morning the lil guy actually took alfalfa as I held it, then the dang phone made a noise. Sigh.

Bag Check (sounds like a trip  ).....
I was planning on doing this earlier this week as it sure looked like lambs would be happening. Then - it turned into well there's one less bag to check because there's a new lamb (born Friday 7/19)
He's cute. Time will tell if he's a keeper, wether, auction, private sale, or freezer.
Meet Sammie - named by the UPS driver who delivered my Premiere 1 panels the same day.

Obi of course was a very happy boy -- he loves lambs,,,,

SO, I did the bag check - so easy when the girls are occupied...

Looking like 5 or possibly up to 8 more to go pretty much over the next month.

The first time I saw that term I was like "What???"

I figured it out :gig

It’s pretty simple, sheep call Uber and go shopping. @SageHill has to look in their shopping bags because they always try to sneak in chocolate candy bars. Chocolate gets all melty and messy, so not allowed. Seriously they should buy chocolate covered malted milk balls, she would probably allow that.
Hence the term “bag check.”
