That's a lot of pumpkins. What a great food source.
She's beautiful and definitely looks happy! So there's rain predicted for the next few days. One can hope, it's a media, meteorologist, ap,,, Forecast Frenzy
I decided to get over to the barn before feeding dogs and took Sage and Lumen -- Youngest and Oldest.
Lumen will be 13 soon (11/18) and has limited sight, limited movement (falls over easily), and limited hearing.
She was on a mission - GO TO THE BARN !!! She only fell once going down a dirt hill. In the barn she was SO HAPPY and totally acting almost as young as Sage. When Lumen was younger she was a power house - not bad or anything, but a power house. So this morning as I was feeding in the barn (because of the Forecast Frenzy) I thought I'd grab a few pics of her. What the heck - she won't go in the stall (will she?) and I was careful and that lil' ol' doggie slipped passed me into the big stall while I was trying to take a phone pic. SHEESH - SHEEP slammed to the other side of the stall (big stall) and Lumen was moving on in. All The Way In and I managed to snag her by the time she'd "pinned" them to the far wall. ROTFL -- I was probably only able to catch her because I was close to start with!
Needless to say Lumen is a very happy pupster this morning. She trotted back to the house with a spring in her step and a smile on her face.

Lumen is our first Belgian Laekenois. She's done herding, agility and nosework - and her favorite has always been going to sheep.

Love those old guys and girls. So willing. So true. The last Old Girl, Halo - she loved her sheep. I let her think she was working them in the barn corral as a treat. She loved it, but she over did it - didn't get hurt or anything, but never wanted to give it another shot after that. Sad.They never realize that they are old and will try hard to work. Particularly when they enjoyed their jobs.
Erick says that old Anatolians are at greater danger from predators because they don't realize (or won't accept) that they are no longer as agile, etc. They just pile on in and try to defend the way they have aways done which can result in them being hurt or killed by predators. The old ones have to have younger backup in with them.
