Things went well. The surgeon is one who teaches others - white hair, "Dr Welby-ish". Got it all out on the first pass - YAY - one and done!! Eating and drinking for the next few days will be a challenge (hhmmm good for the scale I would guess). Minimal chewing, tiny bites (I dried a little piece of chocolate -- not easy), my lip feels like it's as big as @Baymule 's ewe Granny! It's hurting now :(. I'm glad it's done and over with, now to heal fast. Stitches come out in 10 days.
:hugs

Managed scrambled eggs this morning! Woo Hoo. Changed the dressing - they said a Band-Aid would be big enough to cover it. I said I didn't think so. The nurse measured, showed me, I still didn't think it would work. Well, I was right (go figure) the sticky edges would hit the stitches. Cut those off and hopefully got it on w/o hitting stitches. DH is going to WM to pick up tefla pads and tape. I usually have that stuff on hand, but noooooooo not today.
It ain't pretty, but at least the swelling is finally going down. Hmmmm -- right now I'd look good in a mask!  😷:lol:

Have him get plenty of pads and tape. They can go in the emergency supplies. I also keep several rolls of vet wrap (cheaper from the animal supply companies or feed store) than the human stuff and it is the same thing. Of course, you can't use vet wrap on your bandage in that location :gigbut I use it a lot on bandages in other spots. It is particularly useful to use on men who are hairy. (DH shrieks like a baby if I try to put tape on his hairy arms so I wrap the bandage in vet wrap. It is the same stuff the doctors are using just in cuter colors. LOL) Also handy for the livestock.
