Your "gardening" areas/beds sure put my stuff to shame...
It's pretty much the only way we can garden here. Water and it's associated restrictions - boxes seem to need less. That said - I'm not a fan of the water company and govt telling us to limit, that makes the cost rise - water company has their costs, when people cut back the water company income decreases they have to raise rates -- a very bad circle.
Add to that the gophers -- absolutely have to have hardware cloth underneath or they will destroy what you plant.
Grandson, he is so darn cute. :love Grands are the best, you can spoil him and give him back. Each stage he goes through will be the cutest you've ever seen. Oh sure, you will correct him, but the heavy lifting rests on his parents, not you! BWAHAHAHA!
I know!!! That's the truth - and I'm lovin' it!

OK - the pic on the hay -- definitely will print and frame it. :)

This was just outside my window, and I happened to have a camera nearby...
sadly the creature of dinner is not a Nope Rope (very sad - one less gopher snake at the house).

Sad about the gopher snake... they are good mousers!
