Sid the Llama

Ivomec works on lice. Also you can use a livestock dust on him too. If you aren't seeing any, I wouldn't go crazy. The Ivomec will probably do the trick.

Okay, I'm not drenching him, but giving him oral Ivermectin. If he has any, I may look for livestock dust. Any favorites?

To de-worm a llama I would give the Ivermec SQ. It works better in their system that way. You can use any of the animal dust with pyrethrins. I like straight tea tree oil for the ears apply to a big cotton ball and wipe the ears inside and out, do this every 2 days for a week then twice a week. The hair will grow back nice and it will relieve the itch. With many llamas they do not like you to touch theirs because they are dry and very itchy. Do everything with him with patience soft touch, love and care. I have just got a 6 MO old male llama and in less than a month he is doing everything. He was never around people but in the first week he haltered and would lead. I pack my llamas and they are wonderful on the trail !!!

Like Mully said, it is best to give a shot of Ivomec SQ. There was a study done and the Ivomec is not as effective when it goes through the stomach.
