Whatever you get make sure it is 2 joules at least... Pay no attention to the miles and all that stuff... they will die out after a short section... You need joules... there are only a few solar ones that have 2 joules and they are not cheap.
See @canesisters thread... not sure what pages, but she had trouble with her cow Eva... checked fences and all that... turns out it was not strong enough...
I used to have an old Parmak with the little solar panel and the 6 volt battery that would knock you on your butt.... but the last 2 did not do near as good. Have had decent luck with gallagher, and got one from the premier electric fence co and happy with it but don't remember the brand. Now we use a plug in one at the one place. The thing is, you have got to make sure they get "BIT" by it right away so they respect it... I have a couple cows that will try it regularly... and some that never get within 10 feet of the wire...
You will have better contact with metal wire, not the poly braid stuff... I use a single metal strand, for the top wire, and a poly strand for the 2nd one because I want the calves especially, to be able to see it. Both are hot.

Is the Ram flex fence that wide type that some of the people around here use for horses? Looks kinda nice, almost like "board fence ??? Make sure the charger is rated for "coated wire" ; there is something about using different chargers on wire that is like the poly net... have to be a certain type charger... I've got one for the poly net that I used around the garden.... most of the chargers now will handle either, some of the old ones were not good for the poly wire... think they can cause them to melt and cause a fire...
My biggest problem here has been the grounds because of the ongoing drought. Had to pour water at the ground rods twice a week to keep the soil moist enough to make a good ground... the plug in one at the one rented pasture they run a cord from in the house since they were insistent on the electric fence to keep the cows out of the "driveway" area... and the ground rods are near the house downspout so get some water even if we only get .1 inch or so....that was the only way we could be sure to get a good ground this past year.

ok Will do. I might call Ramm too. I have a lot of their fencing.

This is the coated wire with a flex fence on top. I need to tighten it a bit. :)
