Hi All,

I've been saving wool from my angora rabbit for the last few months. Since she's like a litte dustmop, it's impossible for the wool not to have bits of hay and grass in it, although I try to take as much out as I can. Can the wool still be used by someone for spinning or felting even with stuff in it? Does the spinning process remove it? Can it be carded out?

Thanks!

If there is just a little hay in it I remove it as I card/spin. But, it does just spin into the wool if you don't get it out, then it is really hard to get out. Are they on wire? Mine get hay most days, are on wire, and a wooden hutch (they can sit on top, but wire underneath) and they manage to stay pretty clean. I don't bother with the leg and belly hair though, just the nice long stuff from the backs and sides.

Cheers!

Thanks! I let her run around in the yard now that it's spring. Not all of the time, but usually for a little while each day while I'm out there. Of course, she picks up everything like a dustmop.

So are there special brushes for carding? Sorry for my ignorance, I just don't know anything about this. :D Thanks!
