Well I hope he has a mechanic in his pocket cause he is going to need one to fix his truck and needs to fix his truck to get water for his animals as I'm not letting him pull from my well. Oh that's right he needs a mechanic to fix his broken down backhoe too.

From this to that. Had to move the fuel tanks to install the new lift axle, but after 20 hours of work here it is.

I hope you only went back to do this for that garage at the very best pay rate!! They should be glad to pay you since they've gone thru the hiring of no knowledge "mechanics" al ready. 👍👍
Technically I'm the highest paying mechanic in the city if one were to work for a company. Though for owning my own business, no it's a drop in the bucket. Gives me a place to have things shipped in too large for most carriers, when the snow flies and I need something to do the door is always open as they say and I got them potty trained finally for the first time in decades. I no longer do tires, they go tire shop in town. I walk into that shop and it's like I own the place, lights I got put in myself to make it better to see, organized by me with shelving put in by me both paid for by them. Place was a wreck when I first got there with a bunch of wishes, hopes and dreams that I made possible. I have an open office/chair there (though needs dusted and papers cleaned off if I don't come back for weeks).
Another perk, if I need materials of sorts in town and if I can schedule it right I can get paid to pick them up, make a few bucks wrenching then drive home.
Just a matter of perspective and how one can shape things to work for them.

On a different subject, I can say the customer who has royally ticked me off doesn't understand what he has on his hands. I have different ways of lashing out, take anger turn it into 14/18 hour work days and make him keep up with me since I'm less than 50' from his RV working. Fire up the truck light bar, some other work lights and run him into the dirt. Started off 0700 hours and ran it 2100 hrs tonight, better get sleep I will be back same time everyday running same hours till the snow flies Monday/Tuesday. Complain I shut a job down for rain.... welp Friday we got plenty coming, better get your bathing suit on cupcake cause there won't be nothing dry on you when I get done. Might even run it when the snow flies.
