I have a one month old, Berkshire piglet. She was the runt and barely breathing and unresponsive when I found her. I had her on Manna Pro Colostrum Supplement for the first week and fresh goats milk ever since. She’s a house pig that doesn’t know she’s a pig. Problem is the goats milk has given her diarrhea. She’s active, loves our daily walks but she definitely has tummy issues. She’s still only a third of the size of her litter mates. She wants nothing to do with the organic pig starter her litter mates are eating, nor any melons, apples or other foods. I’ve blended the goats milk with organic yogurt with probiotics and the pig starter but she doesn’t like it. What can I give her to get her tummy back on track? Is there a supplement that will help? I appreciate any help.

Well it is obvious that this little piggie already owns you. Cute, sweet, spoiled and loved. I think she will be calling the shots. Runny poop is not fun, so lets see how many suggestions we can get and you can choose what works. To start with, maybe a little Kaopectate might help. She might not accept pig food like her siblings are doing until she gets weaned, then you can expect a screaming piggie hissy fit.

@farmerjan do you have any ideas for controlling the runny poop on this little darling?

She needs to be eating some solid food whether she "likes it" or not. I have never had a pig that would not scarf down yogurt or milk mixed in with a pig mash. Giving her the goat milk mixed with the feed to a runny consistency as her only food source is going to be the only thing I know of, to make her eat real pig feed. I realize you are making her a pet, but she is a pig.
There may be something not right with her gut tract, and that could be contributing to her lack of growth also. I don't know of any supplement and unless she wants to eat more solid food, her manure is not going to firm up. Mixing food with their preferred liquid, milk, is the only way I have ever tempted a pig's attitude towards eating something.

It was suggested I give her Pumpkin Puree to help with the diarrhea. I held her in one hand with a 60cc syringe filled with pumpkin purée in the other with a large puppy pad underneath her. She squealed and squirted and we both ended up looking like a pumpkin puree crime scene by the time she finally gave up and fell asleep on my lap. 🤪😂🥰 She later let me know when she’s hungry so I warmed pumpkin purée and her fresh goats milk and put it in her pan. “Tink aka Sweet Pea” The stinker turned her little pig snout 🐽 up and walked away without touching it. I’m now in “Hold My Beer” mode. Tough Love. She’s grunting and squeaking as I type this letting me know she’s hungry. She’s got to eat. I’ll make some more pig mash, yogurt mix and give that and water as her only options. Pig mama … you can do this. 🥰🐷 I really appreciate your help. Thank you so much.
