I have a 3 year old pygmy buck that I took in as a rescue. He wasn't really a problem until I brought home Sassy a couple of months ago. She is about 6 months old. I want to eventually breed her to my one year old buck. Can the pygmy be banded or do I need to take him to the vet to have him castrated?

He was a pretty well behaved goat until I brought home Sassy. Now he head butts people and cars. I have scratches and dents on the side of my Mustang! I can't even keep him fenced in because he head butts the fence till he breaks it down. Sassy is safely encased in a 6 foot tall chainlink fence, so he can't get to her.

And even if he gets castrated you can't be sure it will end the bad behaviors. Although I am certainly all for trying and hoping for the best. My buck became a PITA when we moved next door to a doe named "sassy," ;) so I feel your pain. Keep us posted.
