There are 2 ways to handle kid vaccinations:
First way:
Give mom a CD/T (2ml) shot 30 days prior to kidding and then give kid first shot (2ml) at 4 weeks and again at 7-8 weeks of age.
Second way:
Mom didn't get a CD/T at 30 days prior to kidding...so kid gets first shot at 1 wk and again at 4-5 wks of age.

Disbudding:
I don't do...I'll leave that to someone else to answer.

I give mom CDT shot 30 days prior. Then I give kids CDT shots at 3 weeks and 6 weeks. I'm counting on the CDT that was given to mom to be enough with disbudding since I disbud when the horns start poking up which is around the 1-2 week mark.

I vaccinate the dam a month before kidding then vaccinate kids at 8 weeks and 11-12 weeks. Disbudding depends on the kid. My bucks usually need it within the first week, does sometimes as long as 2 weeks.

Someone is advertising locally to disbud goats but said 2 weeks or less on the age.

2 weeks or younger is typical. Here we usually disbud @ 1-10 days old. But each kid is judged individually, Some come out with horns it seems, while others take a couple of weeks to have a decent bump on their head. It really just varies. To me after disbudding hundreds and seeing the results, the sooner the better.

I agree, the sooner the better. Some of those bucks DO seem like the horns are about to erupt when they're born! I've never waited longer than 2 weeks, but I know some folks do.

I waited 10 days on my Oberhasli buck this year and I have scurs, so I won't do it again. I didn't get scurs last year, and they were done earlier.
