I am a new goat owner and my doe will be going to buck camp in a couple of weeks :) I'm just wondering,.... will a doe let a buck bred her if she is not in heat? I *think* my nubian doe was in heat at the beginning of the month but it is so hard to tell. I guess I'm wondering how we will know if she goes into heat when she is with the buck. Thanks!

No, they wont stand for a buck if they aren't in heat. However, a really pushy buck, can try cornering them. But normally they just give up or wait until the doe is in heat and willing to stand. Sometimes you will see them stand and breed over several times over a several hour period. Sometimes you never see them stand, the buck may breed them at night. Using a marking harness or smearing paint stick all over the buck's lower chest every couple of days to mark the does backs when they mount, can really help identify the onse that are bred at night or just one or two times and you just don't get to see it.
