Hi, does anyone know if Safegaurd cattle wormer blocks will hurt my horse. She is really liking it and I don't know if I should let her have it.

look on the label, i think it is fenbendazole but i'm not sure. I *think* it's pretty safe, but I'd recommend googling the "kill rate" or "kill ratio" i think it is called and you'll get the dose at which 50% of the animals in the test group died.

if she's eating the block in a week and it's designed to be eaten in a month, i guess you can figure she's eating 4xs what she needs, which is maybe ok, except on your budget.
 
Thanks for the reply, it is fenbendazole. She is not hitting the block all the time so I don't guess she's getting an overdose. We have it available free choice for the cows, only four right now. It has been out for a few weeks and still quite large so nobody is eating too much of it. The math involved in figureing out the dosing is too much for my little brain. I guess I'll just put it up if I see she is really going after it.
