Sounds to me that you are doing a pretty good job of talking yourself into yaks. Of course you know we want pictures!

They would for sure be over a year old, regular cows are usually 18months when butchered. Yaks should be older at least 2yrs but commonly butchered at 3yrs old.

This should be interesting. There was a guy on BYC who had yaks. I’ll see what I can find of his there. I doubt he’s a member on here too.

@misfitmorgan I couldn’t really find much. That guy doesn’t really have any threads of his own, mostly just chats in a super long chat thread. But I took a screenshot of his profile in case you want to look him up.

You can also search the “other pets and animals” forum over there for “yaks”, and a lot of posts come up, similar to what you have asked here. Maybe that will lead to some contacts for you.
