It’s not fire season yet. Things are still more green than brown TWO fires started one 2:45 and another 2:58. Probably about 40 miles apart neither in the wind path of the other, wind at 11 mph. Add in navigation systems in our van and car have both been predicting a “wind event “ the last two days to start this afternoon and go through sometime on Saturday. There have been no brush fires for a long time.
These two are still small both under 10 ac at the moment.
Convince me it’s not coordinated arsonists.

It's one way to get people off their land.

Bro in law sleeping’til noon everyday. It’s 2:00 now and he’s still not up. His health sucks, he’s younger than me but bent over like he’s 95, shuffles when he walks, his hair and beard are white…I’m not very confident he will be capable of feeding for us when we are gone unless something changes drastically…

Sounds like HE needs someone to feed him!

Do ya'll do controlled burns up that way? Usually an arson will wait for a windy day, when it's unstoppable and does the most damage. :( The ranch I work for had a pasture lit twice last year on 20+mph winds with 40 mph gust days. Later they just did their own controlled burn.

Was a hot, muggy 90 yesterday. Edge of a storm blew some cooler air late day & it finally became bearable. Cooler breeze drifting in this morn -- I'll close windows shortly to keep it captive🙃 that AC will get back in window in next 48. Breakfast & coffee over. Heading out to "do" while still coolish. Mid 80s later, not terrible. I'm thinking this will be a really hot summer! Makes it difficult on people and animals.

Time to get moving.

Slept through to 6:30! I was up late, trying to get the last information from my phone's SD card copied to a laptop. Not quite done, hopefully I can get the rest copied and start setting up my new phone. Old one's battery goes from 80% to 15% in a couple hours...impending doom.

I went to the farmers' market early to pick up some organic chicken and a pint of lard, and one of the vendors had RHUBARB! He apologized that they weren't big, he said he was thinning them. Doesn't matter.
:weee

And the beekeeper I buy from had comb for sale. I've never had comb before, so I bought a square. 🐝🐝🐝
