That is horrible! I'm guessing the home was a benefit of the job? 10days is almost impossible to packup an entire house.

I’m sure after 28 years, he has lots of contacts. He needs to start making calls. He could possibly move out and go straight to a new job.

It will be hard though, as his kids live near by and are still in school. A new job would probably take him out of state

Who lives in the house he needs to vacate -- only him? That's such a lame was to handle just wanting someone "gone". After all those years there, it's not decent to give a 10 day notice & immediate dismissal for no good reason.

If he could get on somewhere else, he could possibly bring all his regular customers with him

JUST WOW.... I'd be on the phone with some of his better customers, and go from there... Plus, If there is anything in writing, he might at least be able to get 30 days to vacate.
Has he thought to go to the owners of the Ranch to talk to them? There is alot of money in these hunting contracts/leases etc... it could hurt the actual owners... and lets face it, even if they are rich, they still have to take care of their bottom line.

Unfortunately it’s a corporation that owns the ranch and recently came under new management that has been pretty hostile to the people who have been there the longest. They fired 8 people in different capacities yesterday

So it's a real "house cleaning"....who knows why Someone with no real knowledge of the hunting? Or maybe they have another plan for the property? Different development. That's a bummer but, I suspect the "bottom line" is different, as is how to get there, for new owners -- a corporate entity. Sad.

I just wish I knew how he is going to manage now. He doesn’t want to leave his girls. 28 years of his life was wiped out in minutes. His home, his career, his health ins…this is the only job he’s ever taken as they hired him right out of high school. It’s all he knows, and there aren’t a lot of openings for a professional hunting guide

I checked "hunting with guides"..... Many more from here on e coast. It's a way to start looking for out his way. theres hope. He sure has experience!
