Those groves are a business. Yours are a gift.

Yrs back I had an small office bldg in FL (rental real estate). There was an avocado tree on it -- which was bearing well. But I never got one in 8 yrs. "People" picked them!! Since I was only there 1 wk a month, I always missed out 🤣 One day I mentioned it to my mgr we had there....he brought me some lovely grapefruit from the tree in his yard 😊

True!! :)
I do have to mention that out here - every grove is posted --- "Avocado Theft Is A Crime". A lot of the groves were let go when NAFTA passed. So sad.
I can see where folks would grab them when the tree is by an office building. Heck the folks in downtown San Diego do have to keep an eye on the trees in their yards.

Started cool but it's gotten to 80 now. Good breeze all day, low humidity, made it perfect really. Got a lot done inside, bedroom cleaned up. Fresh linens & all that. Then went outside...finished side yard mowing. Then cut away all the grass trying to cover the concrete walks & driveway. Took 4 feed bag full to dump. Looks good, really needed doing. Supposed to "rain" after midnight & into 9-10 ish. Can't be much .10" suggested 🤣. Sprinkles.

Nibbling on breakfast here. Full moon run was nice. 21 degrees wasn't terrible, I think.
Forecast is calling for snow next week, just in time for state wide teaching conferences. Interested to see how this will develop.
21 degrees is frozen here. I turn off my water at the meter, drain pipes, so they don't bust. I draw up water for in the house and have a tub of water outside so I can water animals. I usually have to break ice in it. Fortunately freezes like that never last long. My double wide mobile home sits up off the ground. It is underskirted but fat lot of good that does!

I woke up at 2:30. Got a load in the washing machine that doesn't spin all the water out. Sigh......I washed 2 loads yesterday and hung them out. I hang these to drip dry after while. In the mean time, the stupid washer keeps repeating the rinse and spin (no spin) cycle until I go in there and stop it. I folded and put away the 2 loads from yesterday. I might cook some breakfast. What's up for today? I need to take a hog panel down on my working chute to get access to the hay bale in the middle field night pen. take the half hog panel that keeps the little darlings from crawling in the hay and peeing and pooping in it. Then use my little tractor front end bucket to rake out the hay remains, and use the big tractor to set a new bale. Then put it all back together. I need to rig up some sort of cover for the bale I set day before yesterday. and whatever else I can find to do.

We got a long day for teachers today, and I have Cross Country to coach, so I got up at 4:15 to get some of my own miles in before morning practice. Full Red Bull and a protein shake sound like great things to go with breakfast.
Winter is coming, I don't really want to know how cold it will get, but cold enough that I don't see myself driving around much.
Y'all have a beautiful day.

Overcast day, light rain expected, makes for a slow inside day for me. I have a couple errands I might do, only 6 miles away 🤷 for something to do as they're not pressing. Slept great. Coffee is wonderful. Hard to just bum around, I'm used to more go, go, go. I'll get into something in an hr or so!

If you had insulation under there attached to that skirt the rising earth temperatures would help from freezing. Helps if the floor is insulated too. Just don't do like the idiots here do and put hay bales around your house. Swear people move out here to be stupider if that's possible, no wait it is possible. Got one that is building a house from hay bales covered in "cob" I mean half arse cob.
