You are right about the news going nuts over hurricane force winds.
When you see the sleeping giants laying over taking a nap on the road or on the side of the roads is then when the media goes nuts over our winds here. You are right about the news going nuts over hurricane force winds.

I suggest a 5th wheel and one that isn't at max height. If you have bumper pull I suggest max weight in the bed of the truck with factoring in the tongue weight of the trailer. There is a stretch of highway 59 outside of Victoria that is close enough to the Gulf that will blow over big rigs like that. Son had a single wheel one ton truck to pull his camper. Was coming home off a job once and the wind blew him across both lanes on his side of the highway, across the grassy median and both lanes of oncoming traffic. Thankfully it didn't blow him over or hit anybody, That's when he got a one ton dually.

We get wind like that. It's been clocked at 100mph at Wanapum dam. Not a day to be outside.High winds of around 70 mph today, which if one were in near the coast would be sensationalized on the media as all hell breaking loose hurricane, but for us it's just winter rolling in. Take two steps forward and one step back in this wind.
