@farmerjan 😂 Sorry @fuzzi! I When our last bull swam under a fence in the creek to visit the girls next door that was the final straw.
...lol, "final straw". Maybe for him. Hopefully not for you and your tank...unless you're an "ampule" kind of person.

Though I feel like that may have mostly been phased out over the years though (there are still some ampules of goat semen floating around in people's tanks out there, mostly Nubian, but still out there).

This mornings appt went well, even tho the doc was an hour late. Hubs is doing fine. I have to put a 0.5" line of ointment in his eye three times a day. And they taught me how to bandage him up and apply the lead eye shield.
That's good, so glad he's doing well! 💞

Thank you, both. I'm pretty sure an online search with "semen tank" would have had some nasty results, p0rn sites.
:ep

Seriously.

In my short time on BYH I have learned so much, like what a creep gate is, about BPW. I appreciate people taking the time to explain herd stuff.
Yes DO NOT search semen tank unless you already know what you are looking for. Even just raw milk can take you places you do not want to be. Trust me on that one. That's great. Learning is always a good thing. Always willing to explain if I ever say something you've not heard of. @farmerjan always says it better than I though. More understandable. 😂
"Final straw" ;)

 I actually thought that when I wrote it but thought that was just my twisted ranching humor.

Haven't seen "ampules" in a very long time.

Good afternoon all!
On my second cup of coffee already. Had to get up and feed the calf and return some calls from the realtor and mortgage folks. Sounds like we are in the clear to close on all sides now. Still trying to wrap my head around all of that. Got a pumpkin in the oven for puree to freeze dry. Still trying to get through that harvest. Also started the last full load of pears. Will have a tray or two left to mix with another load of something. Trying hard to get everything processed and put up so I can pack it all and lighten the freezers a bit. Still need to put the goats/sheep in the freezer along with all the chickens and rabbits. All those will be emotionally taxing but need to happen. Better half will be up soon. Then onto chores and milking. Running dangerously low on cream and butter yet again. The calf has been drinking up the extra milk right now so we are using up reserves at the moment. Thankful she's still alive so far.
Hope y'all have a blessed evening!
