Baymule’s 2026 Lambing + December 2025

BTX #1, big red ewe, had a single ram lamb today. Little Ringo is the sire, this ought to be a good one. #1 had triplets the past 2 years, a single is ok with me. I have 4 daughters from her, she has been a good addition to my flock.

He has brown tips on both ears.

I’ll be watching him grow. He’ll make someone a great flock sire.

Earlier today, the girls were playing on the front porch. Stinkerbelle taught herself to climb the steps to the porch, gallop around, go down one step and jump off. Stinkerbelle also taught Mabelline her neat tricks.
Granddaughter: Mabelline just peed on the porch!
Me; don’t sit on it and it’ll be ok.

Later

Granddaughter; Mabelline peed on the porch again!
Me; again-don’t sit in it and it’ll be ok

You have NO IDEA how your photos and stories lift my spirits! I sometimes go back and read them again. Thank you sooo much!! I love all those babies.

I’m glad I give you a smile. You are so thoughtful, kind hearted, and always uplifting others. Sending you a milk slobbered lamb hug. ❤️

I lost a ewe yesterday to barber pole worms. I had wormed her twice, thought she was better, but yesterday morning she was down. She had twin 3 week old lambs, ram and ewe. I put them in a jug and I’m bottle feeding them there. The ewe lamb crawled herself through the pallet slats into the jug Freckles is in, to help herself to the milk bar. Freckles has a tiny ewe lamb, doesn’t like the milk thief.

I ordered a homeopathic wormer and it arrived. I mixed up a half gallon in a 1 gallon sprayer. The girls and I wormed all the ewes and all but 2 of the lambs with it, in the front field. The 2 lambs popped through the cow panel holes and ran. Quick! Catch the WHITE lamb!

My plan is to worm the lambs monthly until they are sold or if I keep them, 6 months old. I’m tired of fighting parasites and watching lambs drop dead, or worse, ewes. I’m hoping this homeopathic wormer works. It’s applied by spritzing it in the mouth or in the nostrils. I don’t know what’s in it, nor do I care. If it works, I’ll be a lifetime customer.

@Ridgetop this might work for you.

They have remedies for animals and people too. I’ve used homeopathy on myself with good results, so I’m off and running with this. They have a lamb starter kit that I’m going to order, it takes the place of vaccines and antibiotics.

It’s worth a try, sheep have diseases that there is no cure, vaccine or treatment for. So of course there are vaccines but they are a toss up if they really work or not. Such as; vaccinate your entire flock for CL, it doesn’t cure it, may or may not keep them from getting it, supposed to keep them from having as many abscesses and the good news is, they will always test positive for it. Rather ambiguous if you ask me. Does it work? Maybe. Does it not work? Maybe. Or the so called vaccine for Orf or sore mouth. Basically you give the disease to the lambs, a live virus. Who does THAT make sense to? And let’s not forget OPP, Ovine Progressive Pnumonia. Nope. No cure for that either. It’s estimated that over half the flocks in the US have these diseases in their flocks. Big breeders are the worst.

Worm medicine is getting useless because it never kills ALL the worms. So the resistant worms survive and multiply. That wormer no longer works, here, try this one…. And so it goes. Veterinarians are the same as human doctors, taught that only pharmaceuticals can treat or cure the untreatable and incurable.

In spring of 2024 I had 31 lambs. I was so excited! Then they started dying. I worked closely with the vet, lost 11 lambs. Took 13 stunted, sickly looking survivors to auction and got the word prices I’d ever got and kept 7 ewes. Worms. Coccidia.

This is where I am. I hope this homeopathic wormer works. I’m going to work all the lambs and ewes in the middle field. Every month until sold or 6 months old.
