Actually would be "doable" temps if north winds would stop 🤔. They're not 😵‍💫 sun is out, bright and warm on south sides of buildings. Snow is drifted at 8-10" in spots, only 3-4 mostly overall. Still too much for me! Everyone has plenty of hay, water tubs open to drink well -- thanks to dump & fills yesterday. Only a few buckets of warm to get open. Snow on top actually insulates from a thick ice freeze. 3 eggs this morn, maybe more later :idunno they all have plenty of no snow areas to be happy. Wasted hay from racks made extra bedding for goats. Won't complain - they deserved it. Last night was frigid!!! I'm in for a while. -- then chores repeat.

Happy 41 anniversary to you both. That’s a long time.

Hmmmm…… I just added all of mine up and came up with 42. Longest marriage was to BJ at 25 years. I think I’ll compare this to chicken math. The others don’t count because they were lousy roosters. I’ll stick with 25.
Thank you! 💞

I like how you math! :gig

Nice sunshine, though still cold, and breezy. It's supposed to drop to 13° overnight, which is a record I think.

I brought the remaining "suet" (beef drippings & feed) out to the flocks, giving them extra fat for warmth.

The water tub in Coop Deux remained liquid, in the sunshine all day.

I collected three eggs as well, will check again at roosting time when I bring grapes.

Good morning all!

We need to pack for our trip today. We fly out at 5am Tuesday morning. We decided to stay Monday night in town, so we won't have to get up as early to drive the hour to the airport. We had enough points that the room is free.

Tomorrow is our 41st anniversary, where did the time go! I told hubs to go ahead and play golf, as we aren't going to play while we're in Florida. It always makes his body feel better, so it's therapeutic for him. Besides, we get to spend a whole week with just him and I. No projects and no demands on our time.

Have a good day everyone. Stay safe and warm. 💗
Happy Anniversary!!!! I hope you have many more years of happy marriage to come! ❤️

Afternoon all!
4 out of 5 calves are good today. The little sickly one is acting pretty good but has the runs yet again. Seems to firm up after an herbal treatment. I think it's just him overeating still. Hoping tonight's milking will go well and have a clean filter. If so I'll leave everyone together full time again since she won't be treated. Will still need to milk every few days or so when she's full until they can completely keep up. Have them on pasture (calves currently in temporary pen to keep them from nursing the meds) now so hopefully "mom" can behave herself a bit better and not find poop to lay her udder in. 🤦‍♀️ Last night she found the only dirt spot in the pasture to lay her udder in last night. :he:he:he
Waiting for more parts for DH's rig he's going to take home for his trip. One set that was supposed to be here yesterday became delayed in transit. Scheduled for delivery today. Nope. Delayed. Delayed. Delayed. Now it say's "undeliverable" and that they don't know when it will arrive and it was returned to sender. If it was returned to sender then why drag out the process?! I went ahead and reordered in the meantime and it should be here tomorrow. DH won't be happy but at least it's been reordered. BRB. Just checked tracking and now it says a refund will be issued in 2-4 business days. Thanks for the heads up  Didn't even inform me. Glad I reordered as soon as I saw there was an issue.
Not sure what I'm cooking for supper yet. Still have burger patties I cooked this weekend. May make a casserole.
Hope y'all had a blessed weekend!
:hugs

Thank you and congratulations to you too! 💞

Takes a lot of work and compromise. And when you homestead together, you throw in blood, sweat and tears...lol We've been together almost 45 years. Met when I was 17.
17?!?! I had zero sense at 17! (It could be said that I still lack sense. ... :old :idunno )

But... I, for the first time, had a long chat with "this girl."

And well... :th

Just.... just.... girl is 17, will be 18 in June. My son is 22. :ep

I knew he was thinking serious thoughts.... when he went from building a small house on the property he just bought this past summer, to a bigger house.

But.... there is a difference between suspecting, and guessing, and KNOWING. This young lady is set on my son!!

Just... just.... THAT IS SO YOUNG. She is a sensible young girl, sweet, smart, pretty, and SHORT. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I think she is right at 5 foot.

Anyway.... I had no idea it was that serious! I guess I will have to ask my son... just exactly what his plans are.

I met my Ron in high school. We became friends. On February 2, 1979 we went to a movie as friends, and at some point he put his arm around me. I was 18. We got married three weeks after my 20th birthday. It lasted until the Lord took him Home, 44 years later.

We were young, but we made it work.

It is young, but I was an old 17, I can even say that and know it was true, at my current extended age. Hubs was 22 when we met. In all fairness to him, we met at an adult skate night, you were supposed to be 18. But, he didn't stand a chance anyway...lol

We didn't marry until I was 20. God knew that we needed each other to balance our lives.💞 We are total opposites personality wise, semi extrovert vs introvert, but we share so many of the same interests and tastes, that it works. Not always perfectly, I'd be a liar if I said it did.

He's 6', I'm 5'3", he always says I'm the perfect chin rest... :gig

You'll have to let us know. She sounds perfect! 💞
