Definitely an epic response...lol
Knowing the State of WA, they'll try to declare eminent domain, in order to save the frogs. Funny, not funny, scary, because they make their own rules!
Ummmm, that's exactly what CA would do. Though they would just declare it a "wildlife habitat" and post some signs. When we were looking for the ranch we looked at land that had those signs, then checked into what that meant..... and are you ready for this........ if you bought that property you can not disturb that area - that includes walking through it, your dog going through it, definitely livestock not allowed anywhere near it. YUP - your land but not your land.

The great thing about living in Montana is multiple times a year if one waits you can actually take your meat and just hang it up outside to be smoked courtesy of California or Canada you don't need a smokehouse. AQI (air quality index) is pushing 200 today when usual is around 20.
Like you need that with your lungs.

I hunker down inside unless ambitious then I put on my P100 welding mask on and keep going. I see it's only going to last today, so I'm taking a day off. The summer of 21' when I started building this pole barn and the year after was weeks of this so in 90's and 100's I sucked it up with a mask and kept going.
Yes that's smoke in the picture, not a filter.

I'm sure it's the same here. Eminent domain was the first thing I came up with. They act like kings and we are the peasants on their land. 😡
I'm truly ready to move out of WA. I love the state, I hate the government. One day we will have to leave. It will be so hard to leave what we've built together here. The memories are blood, sweat, tears, hard labor, fun, passion for all of it, enjoyment and most of all love. We've poured everything into it over the past 35 years. Breaks my heart to think about it.

Crystal decided to sit close to me, a bright moment. 💞

Back to work I go, to our sweat shop...lol The extraction room is 100°+ to help the honey flow.

I totally understand that. We've been here 36 years and I love the land, the climate, and all the memories. The government sucks - and the people just keep voting for the same. Though I've thought it fixed for a long long time.
Measures on the ballots saying _______________ and all the polls, studies, etc say it will pass like 90% voting for ___ and then it fails miserably. Lots of snake oil.

We just got to WA three years ago. Its waaaaay better than California re politics. We're not moving cus I'm hunkering down on my 2.5 acres (which sadly, is on a slope, but i get around)
My husband grew up here. I'm from CA. Been in WA since 1980. Sadly the politics are catching up with CA. It's a beautiful state and I've always loved it here. We'll probably be here until we just can't keep up with what needs doing on our property.

Can't believe it 😳 school starts back up the 16th and 25th of this month. That's only a week away :ep

How'd this year fly by of fast?? 🥴🤫😎🤣
I was having a conversation with someone just the other day.
We were wondering if it was just our limited childhood view of the world, but we were under the impression that EVERYONE back in the 70's & 80's went to school from (roughly) Labor Day to mid June (depending on how many snow days we're used).
