Have to get something tomorrow for our LGD....two days now with pulling ticks off of her behind her ears and today also inside her ears....what you all use that is effective? 5 ticks behind an ear is bad!!!!

My youngest lamb that we have been treating with antibiotics that gave us a scare four days ago and is back to normal now has something strange we noticed today when putting rubbing alcohol on her skin for her 4th shot...the inside of one thigh where there is little hair and the skin is...
I'm posting here since this could become an emergency quickly as the lamb is only 2 weeks old....she has a temp of 104.6 and is not acting her bouncy self...more lying around...somewhat lethargic.
Poops are fine...she nurses, but isn't going for anything else which is not normal for her.
No...
This is the recipe I started with before changing it...LOL...I always do changes to suit what we like...found we didn't care for the onions in this, so didn't do that again.

The little lamb born last night was to a first time mama and I was concerned that her udder is not very big. Lamb nurses her often...but have been concerned if she is getting enough or not. So have supplemented her today with 3 bottles of colustrum supplement power for lambs...gave her 1/4 cup...
Just went out in the pouring rain to check a ewe close to lambing...yet again I saw a clear skinny mucus string out her girlie parts...she had done this now for several days. Is this normal or could it be a problem? String is always about 3 inches long.
She's happily relaxing and chewing her...
I have never seen this before and wondered if anyone else had...was out watching the sheep due to deliver lambs soon, and the ewe that lambed last Thursday was smelling the backend of one I think will lamb soon...curled her lip up...as a ram does checking for cycling...she did this several...
Our neighbour just had a lamb born, and more to come and lots of kids on the way...is there a safe way to introduce the new babies to a donkey to avoid agression towards the new babies? They only got the donkey in summer and hasn't been trained...just put in with the goats and sheep...worried...
Okay...hey now...I'm jumping into the journal thing, but slowly...will do the questions another day.
Flu is not gone yet, but improved...just feeling pretty weak and wiped out...tomorrow will be better, right?
This isn't much, but...it's a start ;)
Firstly, wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!
And....never again will I let that third bedroom turn into an "everything" room....my stepson fresh off his last deployment, his wife and 2 year old son and 7 month old baby girl will arrive soon I hope...yes, I am ready...yes I killed my back...
So...I think I'm making the big plunge and starting my journal...go to the where to start thing...copy...paste...answer every question...post...and...now I've got that in the "where to get started" section....
I give up...:he

I posted when my beloved 3 year ewe (can't bear to type her name) who was barren was bought by a friend for meat hoping an older sheep would not be as mild as a lamb. Well...he says the meat is exactly the same as lamb...just as mild and just as tender. Some have asked me about this, so now...

Can you believe someone has this many free cattle?????? Someone with a livestock trailer could really score a big deal here :ep
For those that have been following our darling ewe Suzie who is 4 years old now and has never had a lamb...well...time to face the fact that she will never have a lamb and as much as we'd love to keep her just as a pet, that isn't practical. I would just keep her, but hubby is more practical...
Anyone else have city friends who when they phone ask if you have plans for the weekend? Well...thought I'd ramble on just how weekend dates happen around here...
Friday night date.....got concerned for one of our RIR hens who isn't laying and acting "off"... sounded like she was egg bound and...
